James Cameron sets for Battle Angel After Avatar Sequels
Two years ago in 2010, director James Cameron had once sets his sight to turn Yukito Kishiro's manga into a big screen adaptation of BATTLE ANGEL. However, he ends up making AVATAR 2 and AVATAR 3 instead. But for the die-hard fans of BATTLE ANGEL who have been longing for James Cameron's big screen adaptation will be happy to hear that he plans to make the movie after his two AVATAR sequels. Here's what he had to say below.
I see the good the Avatar franchise can do in terms of keeping a world audience cognizant of our relationship with nature, but doing it in an entertainment context. Ultimately I think there's more good to be done there than with Battle Angel. Battle Angel is just a great, kick ass story.
Set in 26th century where a world is dominated by cyborgs, BATTLE ANGEL centers Alita, a young girl trapped in a robotic body who begins to have memories of her past. Even though fans have to wait several years to see BATTLE ANGEL materialized on the big screen, Cameron insists that there is no way he will letting go of this project.
It would have to be pried out of my cold dead fingers. But on the other hand, I don't want to take it to my grave either. [We want to see it] at some point, yeah.
