STAR TREK 2 Release Date Has Set... In 3D Format!

The long-gestating STAR TREK 2 is finally gaining momentum after a couple of setbacks. With returning director J.J. Abrams already confirmed to helm the sequel, die-hard fans have been longing for the release date. Previously, it was originally set for summer 2012 but it's hardly unlikely since it would be too rushed to meet the deadline. But now, Paramount has targeted STAR TREK 2 to be released on May 17, 2013 in 3D format!

A 3D sequel for STAR TREK is nevertheless a right choice to do, but whether Abrams will be filming in 3D camera or post-converting, remains sketchy at this moment. Let's just keep your fingers crossed that Abrams will be wise enough to film his sequel in 3D camera instead.

On the plus side, composer and Abrams' frequent collaborator, Michael Giacchino will be returning to score the sequel.
